Hike Norfolk

- 31st January 2009: Winterton-on-Sea

15 of us enjoyed a bracing but beautiful walk through dunes, broads and lanes on a lovely Norfolk day. The Fisherman's Rest in Winterton was a welcome suggestion (thanks Ian) for a winter warmer afterwards. View Photographs

This joint NYWG and IVC foray over the border for a weekend of walking at Snape near Aldeburgh, was blessed with sunshine and confectionery from yesteryear. View Photographs

- 4th January 2009: South Elmham

11 of us enjoyed a 9 mile bracing and wintry walk through quiet lanes and fields south of Bungay. Starting at South Elmham Hall, we made our way through the villages of St. Michaels, St. Margarets and St. Peters before returning to South Elmham hall for a welcome cup of tea and cake. - 11th January 2009: Halvergate Marshes

A lovely 9 mile walk, in the ‘big sky’ country adjacent to Breydon Water, which required some thought to negotiate the thawing ice/mud. View Photographs

- 17th January 2009: Holkham

Members were unable to contain their exuberance during this 9 mile walk, taking in the Holkham estate, Burnham Overy marshes and the wide expanses of Holkham beach. View Photographs

- 25th January 2009: Honingham

Eight brave souls faced a wet and muddy walk around Honingham, encompassing East Tuddenham and due to a slight error in direction, a stop at a pub in Mattishall as well. Henry the dog, who was on his first walk, greatly enjoyed the puddles and all the attention he received. View Photographs
