Posted - 15/06/2009 : 09:42:17 On the 27th of June there will be a 10 mile walk starting and finishing in Hunstanton (the walk is a circular tour of the North West corner of Norfolk). And, strarting and stopping in Hunstanton there will be an opportunity for Ice Cream/Beer/Fish and Chips etc. The drive from Norwich to Hunstanton is about 1 hour 30mins. So, I am going to start this walk at 11:00.
Details about where we will park will follow (and this post will be updated soon). I want to check out the options (given that we will be there on a, possibly hot, Saturday).
Hope to see you there.
Graham

Posted - 28/06/2009 : 14:39:43 Thanks for the lift and a great walk Graham. I had to remind myself I was still in Norfolk on parts of it, especially where we had lunch - it felt like we were hidden from the rest of the world.
Bonus points for the pub and tea shop.

thanks for coming on the walk. For me, this was undiscovered Norfolk. Really recommend this area to others.

Posted - 26/06/2009 : 11:07:27 Hi Graham,
As mentioned at the start, I'll bag one of your seats please in exchange for petrol money or a drink - whichever you prefer.
Looking forward to the walk, seen as last weekend's camping/walking trip was cancelled.
See you at the car park in Drayton.

Posted - 22/06/2009 : 14:40:18 All,
well, I reccy'ed this walk ... its really lovely (esp the bit through Ringstead downs, SE of Hunstanton). But, there is a bit of everything, the beach, leafy lanes, the downs and dunes at the end. For parking, at Holme-next-the-sea (about 1 mile from Hunstanton) have a look at:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=holme+next+the+sea&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.071054,19.775391&ie=UTF8&ll=52.964735,0.526056&spn=0.001376,0.002414&t=h&z=18
Or, Grid reference TF697436 on ordnancesurvey.co.uk
Zoom out to figure out your directions from Norwich (allow 1.5 hours from city centre). We'll meet to start the walk at 11.00
I can take 3 from Drayon/Taverham. Please email if you want a lift (see my last posting for suggestion of where to park in Drayton)
Re: dog friendliness. This is high . At the start of the walk there is a kiosk ... with free dog biscuits. Though, there are a couple of places the dog should be on a leash.
Regarding lunch, I propose we find somewhere suitable about half way. (there is a pub at around the half way point who I asked if they would mind us buying drinks and eating our lunch ... they said they'd rather not host us ). But, a lot of the countryside is nice enough for an impromptu stop.
Oh, and parking costs £3 for the day.
My mobile is 07900 886864. But, if at all possible, please confirm by posting on Friday night. The orange network coverage is poor nr Hunstanton .. See you on Saturday.

Posted - 19/06/2009 : 17:39:27 If I get time I might go up to Hunstanton over the weekend. So, maybe shed light on the dog friendlyness question. And, would check out parking.
If you paste the link below in google it should bring you to a picture (on google maps) of parking on school road Drayton. Just zoom out to figure out your route there. (There are buses along Drayton road). If anyone wishes a lift from me, could they meet me (park) there (save me going into town). I can take 3 people.

I would leave Drayton at 9:30.
More details soon.
