Hi,
I am starting to put together the details for the Sussex weekend, on the 2nd May bank holiday 2009.
Sadly the youth hostels in the area are fully booked, as it is a bank holiday, but there is a Travelodge on Eastbourne Seafront which is pretty reasonable.
Rooms are between £50 to £60 per night and are available as twin, double or family (1 double and 1 single.) There will be three nights so this will cost around £75 per person based on two sharing, or £50 based on three sharing.
There will be longer walks on the Saturday and Sunday, taking in the delightful scenes of beachy head and the south downs. There will also be a shorter walk on the Monday before returning to Norfolk.
Please let me know asap if you are planning to join us on this weekend, so that I can start to coordinate accomodation and transport.

Hi Richard
Was hoping to come on this, but have realised that we already have something planned for this weekend.
Hope you have a great time.

Liam, we leave on Friday 22nd May and then stay three nights, departing Monday 25th May. Or that's what the hotel is booked for anyway :)

Although I guess Richard needs to clarify whether we leave Friday evening or Friday morning. I'm happy to leave early Friday and meet others there later, but since I'm not driving, it's not really for me to say!
I'll await for Richard to comment :)

Depends on who else is going, and if we are 1 car or two, but potentially I am up for leaving earlier.

Can I suggest that we allocate people to cars nearer the time, when we know exactly who is going and who is offering cars.
However a lift will certainly not be a problem as the transport will be in the minimum sensible number of cars.
Polly, you need to book your accomodation as soon as possible. There are a few of us already booking into the PremierInn on Willingdon Drive, Eastbourne but you can obviously stay where you like in the Eastbourne area.

If anyone else is interested in going, PremierInn do still have rooms at Eastbourne :)
By my reckoning, those going are:
Richard, Laurence, Liam, Julian, Alan and Polly
Any others?
:)

I'm pretty keen to come along to this. You lot didn't scare me off on the Caston walk today, anyway!
I expect I'll have to make my own way there as I'll be driving from Kings Lynn. Is anyone looking to share a room to keep costs down?

Excellent Tom, I was worried I had scared you off with stories of Andrew ;) ;)
Lifts probably available, not sure who's left room wise, might be worth asking Alan (who is currently planning to spend the weekend on a hotel room floor!).
Would you want to come down early Friday or late Friday?
