What an absolute TREAT!!!!..Weekend of 20th June 2009....The Beer Festival is held at the Hill House Pub over 5 days, its a 2 minute walk from the warmest stretch of Beach on the North Norfolk coast. Campsite is directly next to the pub within easy stumbling distance...Could make an extremely pleasant weekend!

Entry to the beer fest is free, campsite will be chargable but not expensive. Toilet and shower facilites on site too..... I will be booking my pitch quite early just in case!

The actual solstice is sunday night, which i will be staying for but obviously thats up to personal preference.

Anyone who would like to join us or who want more details, please post below or call on the usual number 07862702050

Thanks Nx

I'm interested in this, but this clashes with Richard's night walk.

Let me consult!

I was about to say that my walk was far more important

Then I saw the word "camping"

The point of my night walk was the Summer solstice too, so perhaps we should just "combine" the two events ....

Thoughts anyone?

Richard

If you're happy to merge the two, then that would be great, thanks Richard.

In which case, that's a yes from me!

We're not doing extreme camping though. Unless we pitch your tent on the edge of a cliff :)

It is impossible to do extreme camping on any site that offers toilets!

Richard (or Mr. 3 Stars to you )

Sorry Richard, i posted these things late last night and was going to check for double ups today but Julian is on the ball!!!....Could be a really good weekend if we double up the night walk and the beer fest/camping....excellent idea. The only thing we need to do is make sure we book the campsite early....i will look into this soon.

Don't also forget to add events to the calendar David did, that will help people work out which days are free for things.

This sounds like fun. I can't make Sunday but I can do Saturday. Does it start on Saturday or Friday evening? In which case there is a possibilty I would also be there Friday, just so that I could sample more ales

I'm trying to make enquiries on this. The camping site is called the Manor House Caravan site and the reviews seem fine:
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=7156
and the photo on here shows how close both the pub and the camping site are to the sea:
http://www.norfolkheritage.org.uk/happisburgh/default.asp?ID=12&subname=happisburgh
The phone number for the camping is 01692 652228 but so far it's only been on voicemail and I'm waiting for them to call me back.
Looks like a great place to spend a day or two

Nah, this is camping for softies
Blimey, the camping's getting pretty full for the beer fest already so get yer skates on if you want to live at one with mother earth that weekend.
The deal is £10 a night for a tent with up to 4 people included. After that any extra people are £1.50 a night.
I'm already booked with my tiny tent for Fri and Sat nights but I won't have to pay until I arrive - they don't take any bank details.
I'm going to be knackered, as on Friday I return from N Devon from a week's camping and kayaking, but resting with a few ales should do the trick.

I've just booked in too. Left a voicemail yesterday and the man phoned me back today .

When you book mention that you will be camping near Jonathan France (not Walker!) otherwise you might find you have been allocated a space on the other side of the campsite.

I'm booked for Friday and Saturday nights as well

Took a drive out there yesterday (Good Friday) and it looks great. Saw the perfect spot for Julian's extreme camping tent, near the cliff edge - only kidding!

Just hope it won't be windy...

Richard, did your booking cover me as well?

Paula - we are pitching Richard's tent on the edge of the cliff, near a bull and any fighting NYWG members - he's the extreme camping expert ;) ;)
