Hi I am planning a short walk which will be suitable for prospective and new members and those that like the shorter distances, although everyone is free to join in.

The walk is approx 5 miles long and takes us along the River Chet to Hardley Flood.

I am planning it for Saturday 9th May and the start point is in the free car park at Church Plain in Loddon (opposite Holy Trinity Church)

Start time: 12:00

There will be a pub stop or teashop stop at end.

Please let me know if you would like to attend by posting or text on 07919 160287

If you have any friends that would like to get into walking this is the ideal walk

As Liam is offering a free kit kat chunky to every walk attendee, I will be there.

Ah the famous kit-kat chunky man, you ever eat anything else?
Nice offer but have to decline as won't be able to make this walk

Gordon.

I'm up for this walk.

I promise I'll try not to march (?!) on this one! Might be slowed down slightly by a few pints the night before.

Nice one Liam - definitely up for the free kitkat chunky Julian offered on your behalf!

Can offer lifts if anyone interested.

Adele

P.S. Julian/Richard: without sounding like a bossy cow but actually being one - is it possible to add a function to your forum whereby a box can be ticked to say whether you need a lift to a walk or are free to offer one! In the name of saving the environment and space in car parks I'm usually able to offer lifts or be chauffered which ever is easiest!

LOL, I like your pace Adele, but we'd better walk near the back as this is a new members' walk :)

Those of us needing lifts tend to just post and wait and see what happens, or have people they can approach but I'll ask Richard if he has a more technical solution :)

Yep will definitely walk at the back of the group at a steady pace :) - the thought of pints and teashops will keep me going!

Apologies about the rambling PS at the end of the previous message, as you might have noticed I have quite a bad habit of doing that! It's actually not issue I just like creeating mountains out lof mole hills!

LOL, sounds like me Adele :) Full of good ideas (normally in my opinion only though!)

I also agree about the pub situation :) I did try for two pubs, but one pub and one teashop is a hapypy compromise. And of course the kit kats.

I'm afrid the forum is an "off the shelf" solution, that I used, so it would be very difficult to add a new tickbox as you suggested.

Please just keep offering lifts in a reply, as you have done before, as this tends to work well.

Richard

Thats cool Richard, I do like the forum by the way - just in case you wondering!

Will try not to ramble unnecessarily about random stuff on the forum - will store it all up and save it for the pub instead - it'll make so much more sense after a couple of pints!

There's always the "General Chat" section of the forum for any online "ramblings"

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie to this group and well, to walking long distances really, so looking forward to this to ease me in gently!
Would anyone be able to give a lift from Little Plumstead though?
Thanks so much.

Hey Liam and Julian,

Yep, no problem on the lift front, I'm still definitely going on the walk and going to try really really really (?!) hard to walk slowly for the entirity of the walk!

Julian, depending on whether anyone else would like a lift, at the moment can I pick you up at 11.15am at the same place as last time?
