Please arrive ready for a 10.30 a.m. start. The walk is 11 miles. Huntingfield is in Suffolk, about 3 miles from Halesworth. The walk takes us through some Suffolk’s most beautiful undulating countryside along paths, tracks, country lanes and on the edge woodland. The highlight of the route is the path which goes across the Capability Brown designed grounds of Heveningham Hall (one of England’s finest 18th-century stately homes), between the lakes and the hall itself. There are outstanding views of the hall. If time allows at the end of the walk we can have a drink at the village pub.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to drink. I’d recommend more than 1 litre (I drank 1.5 litres on the recce). There are a few short patches of nettles.
Huntingfield is very easy to find. I would suggest driving from Norwich along the A144, through Bungay, then having driven down the hill into Halesworth, go straight on at the first 2 roundabouts, take the first exit at the 3rd roundabout and continue up the hill out of the town on the B1117. Drive through Walpole and immediately after Heveningham Hall take the turning on the right to Huntingfield. Please park anywhere near the pub, as this is where will start.
It is best to text/phone me on 07726 412415 or post here. Please ensure you allow sufficient time for you’re your journey, so we can all start promptly at 10.30am
I look forward to seeing you.
Andrew
N.B. If anyone is going to bring a dog, please be aware there could be a large flock of sheep with their lambs. |

I can change the title, if you are not able to ..
Thanks

Andrew,
I plan to come to this.
I am happy give lifts (up to 3). But, its a long drive and its going to be relatively rushed for me that morning. So, I am offering one pick up only. If you need a lift please be at the railwaystation at 9:20 (opposite the multistorey carpark)
Please email me directly if you need a lift. Or call me 07900886864 (I may not check the forum before I set off).
Cheers,
Graham

Yes, thanks Andrew - was great to have few slopes and views, as well as cows, sheep added to the scene. Plus my bare legs stayed nettle sting-free!
Richard - thanks for the link but when I open it, it shows the UK from way up high. If I zoom in it ends up in Leeds or somewhere similar. How do I zoom in to our walk? You need to explain these things to us non-techies!!!

| Paula, open it from within Google Earth, and then tick all the options. Don't double click on the icon or try to run it before you open Google Earth, it doesn't seem to work then. |
