Hi everyone
The walk will start at 10am from the parking area opposite the Swan public house in Ringland, OS grid reference TG 141138 on the OS explorer map 238 Dereham & Aylsham. Parking is limited so sharing would be good if possible as the landlord at the pub is not happy for us to use their car park as Sunday lunchtime is busy for them.

The walk is 11 miles and will take us across the attractive Wensum valley towards Attlebridge hall and on towards Upgate. The return route will include a section of the Marriots way before retracing our steps across the Wensum valley then returning to Ringland following the valley where we can have a drink at the pub.

This is quite a rural walk with no pub until the end so you will need a packed lunch, the walk is mainly on good paths and forest tracks apart from across the grazing marshes, although these are dry at the moment. As well as lunch you will need the usual good walking shoes, drink and waterproofs.
For those that may have done the walk from Ringland earlier in the year this is an entirely different route.
My mobile number is 07528934706

Sounds good, Ian. I plan to be there. I could pick 3 people up from central, west or south Norwich if needed, or along the route from Lowestoft to there, but I'd have to be able to get back to work at Beccles by 4pm, so can't stay at the pub all afternoon.

If you knew where I lived, Silje, you might not make those promises, as it's half an hour out of Norwich...
So I'll pick up Paula outside the footie ground/swimming pool, Jul same place? or say where, and Silje on Unthank Rd. See you all there. Just hope I finish work at 2am.

Hi Silje,

I thought I'd reply as Jonny does shift work.

The walk is in Ringland which is the other side of Costessey from Norwich, and Jonny lives in/near Lowestoft so will be driving via Norwich to get to the walk.

If you (or anyone else) needs to have a conversation with someone, it is better to click on their username, then click on 'Click to send on Email'. This prevents the thread getting too clogged up.

Ian,

I hope to join you for this walk. I'm not 100% certain to attend. But, if I can make it I'll be on time.

thanks

Hello Ian, I would have loved to go to this walk tomorrow but I have to take my mother to the garden centre to buy some pot plants.
